Carol R. Newman, R.N., M.S., L.P., LLC
B.S. in Nursing, St. Olaf College
M.S. in Community Counseling, Winona State University
Carol spent over fifteen years working as an R.N. in both in-patient and out-patient cardiovascular settings. After obtaining her Masters Degree and LP (licensed psychologist) license in 1995, she began a career as a psychologist. Since 1995, Carol has worked with adults, couples, and adolescents with mental health issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress, grief, relationship, stress, pre-and post-divorce and parenting issues.
With her dual career background, Carol has extensive experience in both physical and emotional health. As a psychologist she takes special effort to make sure clients feel safe and respected as they explore issues that are at times painful and intense. She views therapy as the art of encouragement to promote growth and healing for each of her clients.
Starting in September of 2017, Carol has added teletherapy as a format for therapy sessions in addition to office therapy sessions. She is excited about using teletherapy which will add flexibility and convenience for some clients. Teletherapy is now covered by most insurance companies. Please see the teletherapy consent form and teletherapy instructions form below

Debra is a licensed psychologist. She has worked in private practice since 1993.
Debra was employed by Mayo Clinic for 11 years in the Department of Psychology as a psychometrist prior to obtaining her Master’s degree. She has extensive experience working with anxiety, mood disorders, chemical dependency recovery, post-traumatic stress disorder, self-esteem and assertiveness, conflict resolution skills, parenting struggles, codependency, family-of -origin issues, workplace issues, anger management, etc.
Debra works with individuals age 13 and older, and with heterosexual and gay/lesbian couples. She also incorporates spiritual counseling for those who request it.

Tatyana Karpyak, Psy.D., LP

Tatyana obtained her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the Moscow State University in Russia, and worked as a clinical psychologist in Odessa, Ukraine, for 17 years, specializing in psychological assessment, forensic evaluation and providing services for the patients with severe mental health issues. After moving to the USA in 1998, Tatyana completed the Doctoral degree program in Clinical Psychology at the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University. She has worked in private practice since 2000. Tatyana has extensive experience in psychological evaluation and assessment of children, adolescents and adults with mood and anxiety disorders, attention deficit disorders, learning problems, cognitive impairment, and personality disorders. As a therapist, Tatyana works with adolescents and adults with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, attention and learning difficulties, eating disorders, chronic pain, trauma history, grief and loss issues, anger problems, chemical dependency concerns, and relationship issues. She provides culturally sensitive individual, group and couple therapy.

Tina has worked in a variety of environments within the mental health profession. She provided services as a Behavioral Counselor within the Lifestyle Coaching unit at Mayo Clinic. She also worked as a Correctional Program Therapist at the Minnesota Correction Facility in Faribault, MN. Tina has worked in private practice since 2007 and is working towards her doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
Tina works with individuals age 13 and older, and with heterosexual, LGBTQ, or multicultural couples. She utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including emotion-focused cognitive-behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, acceptance and commitment therapy, and interpersonal therapy. Her areas of specialization include mood disorders, anxiety, dependency concerns, eating disorders, family-of-origin issues, self-esteem, trauma, attachment ruptures, adjustment/life transitions, communication skills, and relationship concerns. Tina uses a caring, collaborative and non-pathologizing style to help her clients utilize their strengths to create change.
